Pain is symptomatic of your problem. Pain is a warning sign, a flashing red light telling you that you are approaching a dangerous intersection and if you don’t deal with the problem of the pain, you will have to suffer the consequences of whatever is causing the pain. If you saw flashing red lights at a railroad crossing, would you step on the gas and try to beat the train? Not likely. Intelligent drivers slow down and prevent a possible negative outcome. Pain is a flashing red light at a railroad crossing. Turning off the lights will not stop the train; it will not make it ok to cross the tracks. You can only do that once the cause of the flashing red lights is no more.
Dealing with pain is just like that. Turn off the red lights yes, but also deal with the problem so there is no need for further warnings. So there is no need for more pain. And when the pain is gone and the problem dealt with, then homeostasis has a chance to return to your life and your body. And your structure.
